Students from the Offshore and Subsea Production Research Laboratory (OPART Laboratory) under the Department of Ocean Engineering, Hasanuddin University, conducted survey and mapping activities at the UNHAS Shrimp Farm, located in Barru, South Sulawesi.

This activity was carried out as part of the implementation of academic knowledge and field-based research to support the development of technology and innovation in ocean engineering. The survey included topographic, bathymetric, and tidal (tide observation) measurements to obtain accurate site data and environmental conditions.

The topographic survey aimed to identify the land surface conditions and terrain characteristics of the study area. Bathymetric measurements were conducted to determine the water depth and seabed characteristics, while tidal observations were performed to analyze sea level fluctuations that influence coastal and marine environments.

As a research laboratory under the Department of Ocean Engineering, Hasanuddin University, OPART Laboratory is committed to supporting the advancement of knowledge, technology, and innovation in offshore production systems, subsea engineering, marine technology, digital monitoring, risk analysis, and sustainable engineering solutions for maritime development.

This activity also represents the integration of academic learning and practical field research in addressing real-world challenges in ocean engineering.
